Students set goals, measure progress, and find ways to express themselves musically, integrating improving technique, understanding theory, and musical interpretation in lessons that don’t put them “on the spot.” Instead, each student sets an individual pace and decides on a unique musical direction.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are already playing professionally and wish to work on new styles and techniques or deepen their understanding of music theory and notation. Some are just starting out and want to develop good habits on their instruments. Others are working toward entering a music program, such as Berklee or UMass Lowell. Finally, some are amateur musicians working toward increasing their repertoire and skill level in church or community groups. Lessons are tailored to each student's musical goals.
